Each year Hillel runs a Holocaust Remembrance Week dedicated to creating awareness to past and present genocides world wide. The focus changes to a new region of the world every year. Events typically include a speaker from the affected region, a film on that region, a speech from a Holocaust survivor, and a prevention on the Psychology of the Holocaust. Past years have looked at areas such as Rwanda, Darfur, and China. This year Hillel is putting on three educational, inspirational, and unique events for Holocaust Remembrance Week. Our Holocaust Remembrance Week will be celebrated the week of April 19. Look out for lots of advertising around campus closer to the week of the events. Check out who we have coming to campus and what we have going on: April 19: Speaker Slash Coleman will be talking about a person's "Chaidentity" in TDU at 8:00pm. This event is free. April 20: Come watch the powerful Schindler's List in Grafton at 7:00 pm. This event is free. April 22: Listen to Holocaust survivor Laszlo Berkowits tell about his experiences in the Holocaust in Festival Highlands room at 7:30pm. This event is free |
